>> February 09, 2010

Who doesn't love free money!!! The Tucson Mall has done this multiple times now and I so love the extra mall funds! I still have some money left over from previous promos.. Anyway here is deal...

Unfortunately its not an offer I can share/forward on..This promotion is only good for club members... but if you have done a past promo then you were required to sign up for their club... so you should have received the email too! The email came through for me today, just before 4 pm. So go check your emails!!

You must present your email (with the offer), plus an ID between 10am - 9pm in the center court on either Friday or Saturday (2/12-2/13).

It also states while supplies last so.. I plan on going Friday!!

Target and Carters/Children's Place

So I went in to TARGET, looking for the buy 5, get $5 GC deal for quaker products.
The Oatmeal express in brown sugar and cinnamon was tagged as part of the promo and only $1.02 each! So I grabbed 10, for 2 orders.

I also came across robot decals for the baby's room. Robots are the theme... I already snagged the crib set with mobile. Target has a few robot items in their kid bedding section and they are fairly "new" so I was surprised that I came across this at 50% off! We had already planned on buying them... so now hopefully I can snag them at 75% off too!

The only hitch... the register didn't prompt for a $5 gift card with my 5 oatmeal cups. So it took a few minutes for the front to call the grocery section and verify the deal. However, in the end, it worked out ok. They couldn't MAKE the register give me a gift card, so they just took $5 off my orders...

Order #1
5 Quaker Oatmeal Cups $1.02 each - (2) $1.00 IP= $3.10 for all 5
Robot decals $6.48 (50% off)
-$5 (in lieu of the gc deal)
Total $4.70 OOP

Order #2
5 Quaker Oatmeal Cups $1.02
-$5
Total $0.10 OOP!

We then ran to the Foothills Mall.. my mom wanted to snag the Big Brother shirt/Little Brother onesie we found at Carters... so she bought those.. super cute

Then... we let Quinn play in the play area for awhile and hit up the Children's Place Outlet when he was done. They had quite a few super cheap racks, including some $1.99 racks. I snagged a great pair of grey corduroys for Quinn and 2 sleepers one for big brother and one for little brother.. all for $1.99 each, less my 15% off Q! Great Deals!!

36 lbs of dog food for TAX only!!!

>> February 08, 2010

Ok. Thanks to Teresa and Aimee at PYP, I collected another 6 Qs for free pro plan dog food... each for 6 lb bags. Two catches, they can only be redeemed at Petsmart and they expire next sunday (super quick)...

Totally free up to $13.99, although they are only $11.99 at my Petsmart... anyway, I only have to pay the tax.. which worked out to $5.83... not bad considering that is only worth 10 lbs of dog food at costco (figure $0.50/lb for the kirkland dog food there), so I got 2 1/2 times more dog food for the price!!

I keep hoping I can find a few more to trade for... although we are running out of space to store dog food, normally we just buy 1 big bag when we get super low and refill our dog food plastic bin thingy. The first batch of super cheap/free pro plan filled up our bin, so these bags got stashed in the closet around the bin.

I am loving the cheap dog food, totally helping me on a budget buster and we are trying to be SUPER tight... so this is perfect timing for us!

I am submitting for a $5 Sonicare Rebate and $8.99 Schick Rebate (from last week's insert).

I did finally realize that you can no longer use a walgreens gift card to pay for any $OOP cost on an order when you are purchasing another gift card. You used to be able too... but there has been a couple times recently I noticed that it has caught me off guard at the register. So that kinda sucks.... but I can still use my overage from RRs to pay towards a gift card which works out ok for me. I just need to be careful with my $OOP cost and tax on bigger orders, I would be better off, buying the GCs separate with a few smaller fillers, rather than throwing them on big orders where I will definitely have to pay tax.

Frugal Ramblings- Super Bowl Edition

>> February 07, 2010

Well, I am finishing up my frugal rambling thoughts for the past week... while watching the super bowl.

  • First off check out my new crockpot... only cost me $10! It's actually a replacement one from costco, because the plastic handle for the glass lid snapped off. We tried to superglue it back on.. and that FAILED miserably! So I returned it to Costco, a straight across trade would have been nice, although this IS a different model, so it ended up being exactly $10 more with the return credit. I am just happy to have a crockpot back with a usable lid, plus this one is slightly larger which is nice. Also I checked into buying a new lid, but crockpot didn't even offer a replacement lid for our model, and I am sure even if they did it would cost at least $10 + shipping anyway....

  • I only spent $31 of my $40 budget on groceries this week and that includes about ~$17 cash OOP for veggies (brats), ice and chicken for the superbowl party. Luckily I was able to snag buns, beer and another pack of brats at safeway with my gift card funds, so NO $OOP cost. Oh and pringles at CVS! Plus we already had diet soda, BBQ sauce, some chips/dip, turkey sausage, etc on hand already. Our party was sort of potlucky, so people also brought over.... Plus I added the $6 in cash I got back from safeway from the overcharge on the beer, which left me with $15 extra to roll into next week's budget.. but as you see above I spend $10 on the crockpot, and I am taking the $10 out of that. So I have $5 to add to next week's $40 budget!

  • I finished up filling out my Coors $15 rebates (and for my parents), and will be mailing them tomorrow so those funds (when received) will go to our Bonus/household funds to buy extra stuff not in the budget.

  • I ordered 2 more $5 amazon gift cards this week from swagbucks! Which is perfect timing.. because I actually need to buy a b-day gift this week... which along with the other gift cards I have will wipe me out again... I need to get "swag searching" again!!

  • I dropped off some Quinnie stuff to consign at RocknBabies this week, hopefully it will sell quick, so we have some credit over there. It's a super cute store!

  • I finally snagged the blackout curtains and a couple curtain rods at Target this week for 50% off. I have been stalking these for Quinn and #2's room for a few weeks. I plan on returning the 2nd curtain rod (Quinn already has one) once we decide which one is best for the baby room and then keeping my fingers crossed that I can get away with a total of 3 curtains between the 2 rooms, vs. 5, so I can return 2 of them to the store!

  • I snagged some super cheap dog food last sunday and and thanks to Teresea and Aimee @ PYP for a few extra Qs, I will snag a few more this week, these coupons were EXTREMELY short dated as they expire next sunday.

  • Don't forget to enter my giveaway for a $50 Fiber One/Safeway Gift card provided via MyBlogSpark!

That is all for now.. at least that I can think of.. we have some yummy chicken leftovers among other things for this week which is nice and Quinn had lots of fun hanging out with everyone!
