Week #2 Winner & Don't forget to this week's $50 Safeway Gift Card Giveaway!!

>> November 13, 2009

Week #2 Winner was entry #6, Laura. Congrats Laura, I will be emailing you to get your mailing address!!

As for everyone else, lets start week #3 of the Safeway $50 Gift Card Giveaway!!

Thanks again for everyone sharing their favorite frugal/deal site last week!

We will keep it simple again this week, one entry per person, and please make sure you email address is either posted or available in your blogger profile!

This week I would like everyone take a look at their Safeway Ad and let us know what you think is a good deal there this week, with or without coupons! It can be from Safeway or other Safeway company ad (like Vons, etc). If you don't have this week's ad handy, you can check it out here!

I haven't planned on doing a lot of grocery shopping this week, but Safeway has apples for $0.47/lb this weekend! It might be a perfect time to try the recipe 4hats posted here!!

Disclosure: I was also given an additional Safeway gift card to check out their new lower prices for myself. However, this in now way influences my opinions or reviews of their products or store!

KC,

I think the best deal this week is the round steak at $1.47lb. If I wasn't moving, I would be buying a few of those and grinding them into ground round for my freezer. If you don't have a grinder, have the meat manager grind them for you.

I'm all over the $0.99 asparagus! One of my favorite veggies :)

I will be going tomorrow to stock up on some Progresso soup.

Green Giant canned veggies are $0.49 each here (darn this expensive California state!), but that's an AWESOME deal for this neck of the woods! I would be buying them for Thanksgiving, but we get the Safeway brand, no salt added, for 79 cents. Sure, I might be mixing them with low-sodium cream of mushroom soup (also from Safeway!) and French's onions (part of their awesome Home for the Holidays promotion), so it's not exactly health food, but still... ;o)

There's a coupon for $2 off duracell batteries. I bought some last week and they were on sale for I think $4.99 which is cheaper than Walmart and I used a $1 off Safeway coupon and a $1 off MQ. If they are still on sale this week, you could get $3 off with both coupons and they are part of the home for the holidays promo.

I am in California, so there were not very many great deals in our ad this week, but the Sunday paper did have a Safeway ad and has a coupon for Quaker granola bars for $0.99. I have a coupon for $0.75/2 so will be getting 2 boxes for $1.24, which is pretty good. Also, in the store the other day I saw Nature Valley Nut Clusters for $1.99 wyb 3. If you have the $1.00 IP cpns, you could get 3/$3. Those are great!
Thanks! dig1n at yahoo dot com
